Creative ideas for recycling and repurposing

I will never forget the day I got the keys to my first doer-upper. Age 22, all my money had been spent on the purchase of the flat, and all my income was set aside for paying the bills. That day I moved in with everything I owned - a singe bed and dressing table from my childhood bedroom and a suitcase of clothes. The previous owners had kindly left all their unwanted furniture to start me off. All dated items from the 1980's but considerably better than nothing. My grandmother donated my granddads old tools and armed with a few D.I.Y books I began to look differently at all the junk around me. Right there is where it all started.......
